As the committee commenced, it lacked alacrity and a smooth flow. A dearth of interest was observed, and a handful of delegates were noticed yawning away to glory. Tedium and monotony seemed to be bouncing off the walls of the Multi-purpose Hall. Motion after motion failed, and the committee further plunged into a state of being weary.
However, after a while debate in the WHO took an unexpected turn. As the session progressed, one could feel the seriousness, solemnity and dedication reflecting off the delegates as they debated over the extremely sensitive agenda, ‘The Spread of Ebola’. Being the youngest and most inexperienced of the lot, one would expect these delegates to be immature, and juvenile. However, their efforts to overcome this misconception shone across the room.
Delegate of Sierra Leone and the Representative of World Bank took immense initiative to shape the debate and took the discussion a notch up, by making fruitful contributions to the committee.
