The delegate of Nigeria, the most beleaguered if one may add, requested financial help from the entire committee. The committee recognized this request as worthy and in its place, offered to provide self-defence training and psychological therapy for the victims of Boko Haram’s terrors. Moreover, the committee highlighted the grave need of safety measures and regulation of border hopping. And to add on, those affected would be offered refuge in the neighbouring countries of Nigeria.
Delighted with the prolific debate that had ensued, an unmoderated caucus was passed, to not only constructively discuss consequences of the mass kidnapping that Boko Haram led the previous year, but to also let off a bit of steam. This stressed upon ways through which the member nations of DISEC could tackle Boko Haram through political, financial and psychological aid.
