A little later in the session, Delhi's Chief Minister stated, “Instead of choosing between culture and human rights, we should change culture so that it can accommodate the LGBT rights”, in the moderated caucus.
The second motion raised was on the topic “Possible backlash due to the removal of Section 377”. A wide array of placards had gone up instantly as a lot of people had something to say on this topic. A political father-and-son pair had a moment, when one politician recognised his “beta” in the committee and commented, “we shouldn’t go against so many cultural elements for such an immoral cause”, referring to LGBT groups.
The committee then moved into an informal session to form a working paper; the room instantly divided into 2 large groups - the NDA and the INC. During the informal session, the Executive Board indulged in a few selfies. The Chair spent the last 15 minutes of session explaining the difference between the Parliament and another committee.
